Mike’s Hard Lemonade – Slurpee Style!

In my last post I told you about how I made Slushies for my kids in the ice cream machine.  Inspired by my children’s happiness I thought I’d make my summer better as well!  So, I loaded up that ice cream maker with some Mike’s Hard Lemonade!

Mike’s Hard Lemonade now comes in lots of great flavors so I know this ice cream maker is going to be busy! If you want to try this just make sure the beverage you put in is carbonated… I don’t know why, I’m not a scientist, I’m just some crazy mom that decided to throw alcohol in an ice cream maker… yup that is what my life has come to! So, without further adieu, this is how you make it.

Supplies

  • Ice Cream Maker
  • ice
  • rock salt
  • Several Mike’s Hard Lemonades (or some other adult carbonated beverage)

Leave one bottle to the side to sip on while you fill your ice cream machine with ice and salt according to it’s directions.  Pour Mike’s Hard Lemonade in canister, Put it all together and start it up. For Mike’s that is already cold it should take 20-25 minutes for room temperature Mike’s 25-30 minutes.

I served mine with sugar on the rim and a slice of lemon! :)

Thanks again to Tina at Sassy Southern Sweets for loaning me her ice cream machine.

Make Homemade Slurpees with Your Ice Cream Machine

Whatever you call it, Slurpee, Icee, Slushie,  you can make your own with your ice cream maker.  These are great for hot summer days, holidays or kids parties.

This is super fun for the kids, simple and cheap.

Supplies

  • Ice Cream Maker
  • ice
  • rock salt
  • 2 liter bottle of cola, whatever flavor you like

Fill your ice cream machine with ice and salt according to it’s directions.  Pour your 2 liter bottle of soda into the fill line of the canister, if yours is as big as the one I borrowed from my sweet neighbor, the lovely owner of Sassy Southern Sweets (4 quart) it will fit the entire bottle.  Put it all together and start it up. For cola that is already cold it should take 20-25 minutes for room temperature soda 25-30 minutes.

And the critiques give it two thumbs up!
