Great Toys – No Batteries Required
Years ago I set out to have a battery free Christmas. It wasn’t easy with five young kids but I did pull it off. I was so tired of buying batteries for all these electronic games the kids had. The cost really adds up and even though, I’m not seriously into “being green” I do think about the environment.
So, this past Sunday I noticed that we only have a short 90 days until Christmas! I thought I’d better get going on some of the gift buying, so that I’m not out on Christmas Eve feeling anything but the holiday spirit. I sat down and made a list and checked it twice and thought I would start with my grand-kids.
I wanted to find them both something that was fun and didn’t take batteries and happened upon a site which has the coolest baby travel gear! I found this super cute monkey rolling backpack for my oldest grandchild to have for when she comes and stays the night with us.
After cruising around the site a bit, I also found two other great gifts for them on the Melissa and Doug page, which has games, puzzles and other things that are both educational and fun! And best of all no batteries!
For the wee one I found the Toolbox Fill and Spill.
And for my granddaughter that is just learning all her states in school I found this awesome U.S.A. License Plate Game.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
