Summer Fun – Trampoline Sleepover

My two youngest children practically live on the trampoline!   They were always wanting to jump at night but the back porch light wasn’t quite bright enough for night time jumping.  Then one day I was out shopping for patio furniture and saw a gazebo that had lights strung up on the inside and (pardon my pun) I had a light bulb moment.    I went home and we got out the icicle Christmas lights and the kids strung them around the outside of the trampoline.   The kids love it and so do their friends!  They get to jump at night and see what they are doing.  I have to say, I think it looks pretty awesome.  I thought it would be cool for them to have a sleepovers as well; they have had three so far and I’m sure they will have lots of slumber parties under their twinkly lights on their trampoline this summer.

I will say this looks even cooler in person. My camera doesn’t take great night time pics.

Make Homemade Slurpees with Your Ice Cream Machine

Whatever you call it, Slurpee, Icee, Slushie,  you can make your own with your ice cream maker.  These are great for hot summer days, holidays or kids parties.

This is super fun for the kids, simple and cheap.

Supplies

  • Ice Cream Maker
  • ice
  • rock salt
  • 2 liter bottle of cola, whatever flavor you like

Fill your ice cream machine with ice and salt according to it’s directions.  Pour your 2 liter bottle of soda into the fill line of the canister, if yours is as big as the one I borrowed from my sweet neighbor, the lovely owner of Sassy Southern Sweets (4 quart) it will fit the entire bottle.  Put it all together and start it up. For cola that is already cold it should take 20-25 minutes for room temperature soda 25-30 minutes.

And the critiques give it two thumbs up!
